PBS Bombshell - Please Act |
|
|
November 3, 2005 |
|
|
|
|
Dear
Bob, |
|
PBS
Campaign Update |
|
Fathers
& Families helped
put together a coalition
of about nine organizations
to protest PBS’s
heinous documentary,
“Breaking the Silence:
Children’s Stories.”
This film is a broadside
torpedo aimed at
fathers. If you
are not aware of
this controversy,
who the nine organizations
are, and why you
must send a protest
email today, please
click on the link
below to get the
facts.
The result of our
campaign has been
impressive, generating
at least 4,000 emails,
letters and calls
to PBS. Op-Ed pieces
attacking the film
have appeared in
several newspapers.
The Houston PBS
affiliate aired
a show with our
point of view. Two
or three PBS affiliates
are reputed to have
pulled the show.
The American Psychological
Association has
repudiated the views
attributed to it
in the show. There
have been meetings
with congressmen
about the show.
There have been
meetings with the
heads of several
PBS affiliate stations.
Various individuals
with personal connections
to PBS officials,
the Corporation
for Public Broadcasting,
and the foundation
that funded this
movie are using
private contacts
to protest it. There
are confidential
indications of serious
concern at PBS. |

The
Latest Bombshell |
|
The
film portrays Sadia
Loeliger as a heroic
mother who defended
her daughter from
her bestial father,
Dr. Scott Loeliger.
But Glenn Sacks
has published extensive
documentation, available
at the link below,
that Sadia beat,
burned and terrorized
her children. The
accusations came
from the daughter
herself, a babysitter,
a niece, and several
mental health professionals.
Even more incredibly,
Scott Loeliger and
his attorney warned
the Corporation
for Public Broadcasting
and the film’s producers
of these facts,
yet they proceeded
to air the film
anyway.
These bombshell
documents dramatically
undermine the credibility
of this film. In
my view, they also
set the stage for
a successful libel
suit, since Dr.
Loeliger is portrayed
in the film as a
batterer. |
